It is huge. That’s my first and primitive feeling after wondering around Las Vegas in AWS re:Invent 2017 for the first couple days. It is obvious that you can’t fit 40 000 like-minded seminar people without continuous queues, long distances and some frustration. But still it seems that everything is pretty much working - schedules have been kept, we get food to eat and foremost get to hear interesting lessons learned and new product/service releases.

So far the most interesting topics for me have been related to AI services like Rekognition, Alexa, etc. Also, the launch of AWS Elemental service was interesting because it will allow on-demand and live video broadcasting with the fraction of cost of traditional video streaming services.
Besides new services many existing services have received smaller enhancements. One of the interesting ones is PrivateLink in VPC scope, which will allow connecting on-premise and 3rd party services in private connection to AWS. So it is kind of extension to VPN/Direct Connect.
I’m keen to see what else the rest of the week will bring. While waiting to that we will enjoy some NHL hockey with few Solita colleagues.
